Hi! I’m Michelle, an artist, teacher, professional organizer and mother of one, and I’m on a mission! A mission to enjoy motherhood, my marriage, my friendships, and my time on this earth in the fullest, most joyful way possible. And to help as many others out there to do the same.
By clearing out the clutter; that physical, emotional, and psychological junk we insist on holding on to. By letting go of the useless “stuff” that holds us down and back from the life that we truly desire.
Although I love a pretty pantry, I’m not here to tell you how to organize your spice rack. I’m happy to help you do it, but that’s not really what I'm all about.
I’m here because, like so many of you, I’ve felt bogged down, overwhelmed, disconnected, and uninspired for far too long. I’ve reached the point of no return. I can’t go back. I refuse to return to a life of unconscious consumption, of comparing myself to others, of feeling less adequate because of the things I didn’t have, especially because I knew (and know) those things would not bring me happiness anyway. I want to live a life uncluttered!
In my mind, there’s only one way forward. Simplicity. Less focus on the materialistic aspects of life and more on the people and experiences that make it meaningful.
“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.”
After nearly a decade of teaching in classrooms, I felt it was time to take my skills as an educator into a new realm. As a teacher, I understand that learning is a process and that each of us learns in unique ways and at different paces. I also learned how to guide and support my students in their learning of new ideas and ways of thinking.
A Life Uncluttered is my way of teaching what I truly feel passionate about; a life of intention, calm, and joy.
Although motherhood is incredibly rewarding, it can also be a very overwhelming time in your life. It's beautiful, it's messy, exciting and terrifying. For many of us, it's also a time in our lives where we get caught up in the unreasonable expectations and standards of others. We doubt ourselves, question our parenting decisions, and often lose sight of what is most important to us and our children.
If you can relate, I can help. Let me support you in clearing out the clutter so you can get to a place where joy is the resounding feeling of your home instead of frustration.
With a degree in Studio Art and Art History, and a life-long love for design, I know what elements are needed to create an aesthetically pleasing space. I understand how to use colour, texture, space and form to design a cohesive, welcoming, peaceful home. And as someone who prides themselves on their creativity and thriftiness, I can help you use the pieces you already own to create the look and feel of the space you want.
You can send me a message or ask me a general question using this form.
I will do my best to get back to you soon!
